My process is rooted in encaustic , a medium that is organic, elemental and feels alive. I paint with molten wax infused with vibrant oil pigments. I use an aluminum substrate and fuse multiple layers with my blowtorch.There is an exciting  alchemy - the heat, the wax and the metal responding to one another in spontaneous and unpredictable ways. The aluminum reflects light back through the layers, creating a luminosity that feels internal, as if the painting is lit from within.

i love the tension between control and surrender. The wax flows, the pigments shift and diffuse as the heat creates movement and texture. This dynamic transformation mirrors the emotional experience I feel as I paint and hope resonates with my viewer. 

The light in my paintings is not just visual, it is felt. It conveys my joy and memories and connection to my subject..
